Shmuel Silverman
Shmuel is a Multi disciplinary R&D leader with 20+ year career as an entrepreneur and innovator in business and technology. He has a track record in building and restructuring R&D organizations with design centers distributed worldwide. Shmuel co-founded a successful start-up in medical administration software and led many cutting edge technology program realizations from early idea inception to market success. He is a strong team builder with expertise in cross industry collaboration, generating change, and creating new businesses.
Shmuel is intuitive decision maker with broad and current knowledge in technology and marketing strategy. He created new sub vertical market adding $200M SAM (20%) for Xilinx to lead the wireless vertical market team in a declining base station industry. He was instrumental in expanding business opportunities by $1B across 5 years as a Director in Motorola, orchestrated the creation and execution of a broadband business strategy and roadmap.
Shmuel played a key role in changing Cellular Networks, after 3 years of intense development, led over 120 engineers to demonstrate the first VoIP end-to-end cellular network, supporting five different air interfaces and video conferencing, on a voice-switching all-IP network in Geneva Telecom in 1999. The results of this technology breakthrough are being realized by all major 3G and 4G cellular standards, including EvDO to WCDMA, WiMAX and LTE.
Shmuel is an inventor of seven issued patents (and several pending) valued in multi million dollars across wide range of technologies including software, radio networks and systems architectures, and inked circuit based (nanotechnology inks) security solutions.
